Dear Editor,
I am
writing this letter to you as a previous worker and also a survivor of the
Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. I was on the tenth floor when and where the
fire started. The fire made me feel helpless. It had me thinking about my life
what I have done with it and the things I have accomplished in it. Its like my
life flashed before my eyes and I had to get out of there the only way I knew
how. But it left us all stuck in shock and more then anything helpless. I think
a lot of changes need to be made. Like you should keep the doors to ALL exits
unlocked at all times because you may never know what will happen. Also make
sure all of the equipment is working. I will protest with more victims from the
fire. I will write a letter to whom ever I need. I will even sue for the
hundred of lives you have lost because of your dangerous work conditions. People
lives should be more important then the money and your work. Because with out
people how would you make money.
Sincerely,
Rochelle Gladney, A victim of the fire
Rochelle, you are an excellent writer. I like that you end with a question that leaves readers pondering!
